I have just updated the Japanimusic in-browser search to support Opensearch 1.1 (Draft 3). While doing this I have also updated and extended the browser compatibility to support not only Firefox and IE 7, but Google Chrome, Safari (Mac) and Opera!

I have tested Firefox 3, IE 7, Google Chrome and Opera and can confirm they work. However, I do not have a Mac so I cannot try the instructions myself. I used some other website's instructions and altered then to the new settings. Whoever has a Mac and has Safari, please try out the Safari instructions and please report back to see if it works or not (theoretically it should work)...

about IE7 it uses other type of search or something like that, i'll try to find some information about this and update the plugin

Just looked at the code... didn't know it would just be an xml file ^^""

IE 7 also uses the opensearch format, but it can't use the POST command thing, so it should be easy to change it so that it works for IE 7 too.

I don't know i give up it should work perfectly but somehow it doesn't for me when i put 2+ parameters in the search string...

2 types of code i came up with (1 from IE, 1 from firefox ), both dont work for me...

I got the search working in Opera, with a little bit of work. In order to get it to work:

Go to tools>preferences>search (or press ctrl+F12 and then go to search).
Then, go to the button the right which says "Add".
Put in the name and the keyword, and then click on the "details button", and paste one of the following into the "Address" field there:
Important: Paste the code underneath exactly as it is there!

In order to search for music (all variables such as artist name and album info there too):

Leave the "Query String" empty and the "Use POST" unchecked. Set it as your default search engine (recommended =P) or as your speed dial search if you want.

Thats it, you're done!
It worked for me all the times I tried, it should work for others too.

I am currently working on getting it to work with Internet Explorer, update coming soon
