Alright, I got
CoolerMaster 690 case
Gigabyte EP35-DS3L
Intel Core2Duo E6750
Corsair XMS DHX 4GB
1TB WD + 500GB Samsung
MSI 8800GT OC 512MB
Antec 480watt .

I don't know what the problem was but every time, I d/l but then use quickpar + winrar, then do another thing like use search on the computer . I would get delay on the file appearing in the desktop browser, like the file would appear slowly .
Is it becuz of the hard drive ??? I mean, if one thing slow, it will led to other thing slow too . Like burning a dvd would take 30 min compare to normal 5 minute of the system is slow and kinda hang too .
I want to run couple program like winrar and some encoding program and they should be done by their normal time if only one of the program is running . I can run 1 program and be done in 10 minute but running 2 of them would take 30-40 minute when those 2 program if running one after another would only take a total of 20 minute .
I mean, I dont want to sit all day there waiting to click o_O . What went wrong here ?
I was looking to upgrade to quadcore since I am a multi-tasker :P .

PS : I use Vista Ultimate 64bit, XP 64bit left me in the dark and I like 64bit program, run much faster :D .
I wish Linux got more program support to use for my everyday usage :(, they are so fast :D .

probably it's because something that's running in the background may be causing interference o_o. Try closing programs on your taskbar and trying again.

Should be okay as it is. =\

Check for virus/antivirus scan/somethign in background.

Also reformat everyonce in a while to speed up comp and reduce clutter.

Maybe better CPU.

It may be Vista cluttering your memory.. or if you have more than one stick of RAM, and both are different size, they won't run in parallel causing things ot be slower when you use both sticks..

Check with an anti-virus, I really can't guess what the problem is.

~_~ ... the darn thing run fine again after being cool down (no hard work overnight) .... I disable any visualization for now and see how it goes :D .
Reason I use Vista because it had 64bit version and supported community :P . I was thinking of getting another 4gb of ram but still debate if it ever worth it to make a different .
I mean I can run Linux live boot and load it on the ram and it boot, run application real quick o_O . Can't said the same with window .

Try defraging it, you should do that like once a month. Other than that, like everyone says it could be a virus. Your specs are pretty good so you don't need to upgrade, you'll be fine without quad-core too.

I hear Vista can be a resource hog, so maybe you can google up ways to try and free that up.
Good luck.

Is there any loose connections? Open it up and try and clean it, it could be dust building up that's causing it to overheat (since you said when you left it to cool down it was better)

What's your hdd speed? It should be 7200rpm?

Best thing to do is to format and reinstall. Remember technical-support-center-f32/virtumonde-killing-my-comp-t3787.html ? Best to reinstall Vista and then install antivirus etc immediately. There may still be other viruses/spyware lurking in your PC. Once you're infected, you're infected (unless you reinstall) xD

Yeah, my HD is 7200rpm . Should I get RaptorX 150Gb 10k rpm ? It's on sale now since they got a new version, so it's around $110-ish :P .

10K rpm is for servers if I recall correctly, don't spend so much since it's probably a software error, donate that money to us :D

vitamin, if you still got problems (i notice its an old thread) let me know, i can problaby help.

oh and 10k rpm harddrives are best used for gaming as well, not entirely on servers. i wouldnt mind having a 10k rpm HD but they are usually loud and consume a lot of power so thats why i wouldnt get one. a good 7200rpm or couple 5400 in RAID will do me fine! :D

damn double poster ^^ j/k :D .
I upgrade my comp to quadcore already, it's been running great and I can OC more than before the dual core o_O . Bottle neck still is the hard drive but not as severe, it's maybe also that the new motherboard is better. Also my new case is Antec 1200 and it's cool all the hard drive to 22 C, 23 C and 28 C. Also after Black Friday, the new velociraptor 300GB was down to $200 lolz, $100 less than 3 months ago o_O .
Quadcore truly is good for multi-task :) .

lol yup quads are the best. but right now they arnt for gaming.. :( (full extent speaking)

and an antec1200? damn you make me jealous! i have a antec900 and i still love it! the "bottle necking of the harddrive" as you call it. probably might be your cables or connection to the mobo and from to the harddrives. make sure its a good cable and that the GB/s capabilities are set in your mobo's BIOS.

those are just some sugesstions, not sure if you did it but yea.

ORLY ? Ever play GTA IV ? ^ . Funny thing was temp for quad isn't that much different than the temp for dual core. Can't wait till my new heatsink come in so I can crank it up pass 4.0ghz :D . Right now I am running 3.6 ghz(df is 2.83ghz) on stock cooler.

I never own the antec 900 but I think it would be small for me since I own a CM 690 and it's just isn't big enough. This antec 1200 have 12 bays I can just make it a server and load 12 hard drives in there with fans on each 3 bay which cool the hard drive quite good ^^. I also like the inside, plenty of room and best of all the top where the motherboard end and the big fan, it's have space for me to work with instead of like my old 690 case barely have space there to move around ^^ .

My cable come w/ the hard drive, since I bought it retail anyway, WD ftw :P . I mean if I free up the drive a little bit, it will transfer at 60MB/s, the only time when it reach 80MB/s+ transfer rate is when drive is free up at 50% or was it 80% . I guess that is normal but it does lag once in a while, not like how it is used in the old motherboard. Like if it log into window and not done loading those icon in the task tray and I fire up a program, it gonna start to hang there longer than if I waited for those program in the task tray finish loading their butt up, then start the program.
