Like OMG OMG OMG i might scratch saving for my Canon 40D and just buy this one!!! AAHHH and i hear it sports a 3.4fps direct shutter, which will include a 170 jpegs a burst.. O_O thats a hell of a long time! HD video? gosh i might just not have to buy a video camera no more lol!

We are talking DSLR not your average point and shoot. Right now with technology we have DSLR's can go up to 24mp which is on par with the quality of Film DSLR's. 10mp average is like not even a big thing right now. there has been a lot of 10 to 12mp digital PnS cameras out for a loooooong time. *Sigh*

Megapixels are just a marketing term used to get n00bs like you to buy their products. This is similar to 'Gigahertz' in CPU speeds. For example, a if you have a 2.2Ghz Celeron processor, a 1.6Ghz Atom would be faster, more efficient and use less power. Gigahertz is just a number, and only contributes very little to CPU speed anymore and other things like cache and how the CPU is designed (architecture) are more important.

In this case, I could have a $50 stupid camera that is 20 megapixels. The image sensor on this camera sucks so much and even if it could take giant 20 megapixel pictures, it would be a very poor picture, with heaps of blur, lack of colours and can barely see your face. Now, would you want to print that picture on an A3 or A2 piece of paper? Sure it'll be a big picture with high resolution, but the clarity of it is like enlarging a 180 x 180 pixel picture to 1800 x 1800.

A main part of a camera is it's sensor, which converts what you see into a digital format. This is the most important thing in a camera.

People rarely enlarge a photo to A3 sizes anyway, only 6 x 4" photos usually and A4 at the largest, and in this case, Megapixels do nothing.

The sensor and lens are the most important part of the camera. >_<

Well, if you want the quality as top priority you would start saving a a Canon 5DMKII---Thats also been plagued. You have to get some good glass too such as the 85 f/1.2, 50 f/1.2, 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM, 35 f/1.4, and you could dump in a tilt-shift.

Now whats my point--- Its the glass that counts, I can't go back to APS-C...its just doesn't cut it. However full frames are starting to hit that quality that film used to give (And still does).

Pentax is planning to release this 30MP camera. However the size of the sensor is FOUR times larger than standard 35mm Full frame. Now I'm hopping for some 6x7 action.

Hell, my friends who sport a Canon XSi with 12mp and their 'standard' lenses saying they dont need better lenses cuz they got 12mp. I on the other hand have a Canon Rebel the really old 6mp one. but i take waay better pictures than they do and quality comes out much nice than theirs.

I saw a 5D MKII HD video sample..it was stunning becasue of the great glass it had. I'm not that excited about this, all it is, is an extension to 'Live View' allowing the sensor to encode video while the mirror is held up.

I laugh at people who have D40's w/ Kit lenses thinking they will shoot top notch pictures (well you can, but its just not as flexible as some good lenses). Now a good set of primes would do.

D40's are really good camera's I had made some great pictures with them. My only gripe is the Lenses selections they have to be AF-S or something? well any len's that have a auto focus motor. but thats not entirely need perse' manuel focus is sometimes better. But that's just my opinion. Nowadays cameras with in-body focus and lenses that sport a auto focus motor along with Image Stabilizing or Vibration Reduction. Those can come in handy when your in a tight spot with time against you.
